Resident Programs & Associations

At Buckner Villas, there are endless opportunities to get involved.

Our staff – comprised of life enrichment coordinators, a chaplain, health and fitness professionals, and more – ensure that residents can find plenty of ways to engage with others, have fun, and make a difference.

The Buckner Villas resident council is a great way for residents to take ownership in their community and serve their neighbors. This group elects officials each year and meets to discuss community issues, decisions and concerns. All residents are invited to attend meetings. Additional ways to serve at Buckner Villas include the Welcome Committee, Hospitality Committee, Resident Care Team, Prayer Team and more.

Leisure and activity groups at Buckner Villas include the men’s coffee group, resident book club, craft group, and various game groups including Bridge, Wii, Mahjong, Rummikub, Bingo and Scrabble. Additionally, we offer recreational and exercise groups such as water volleyball and other exercise classes.

Residents can find out more information about the different associations and committees available to them by speaking with the life enrichment staff, or by checking the monthly activity calendars.

Buckner Villas Community Involvement

Residents at Buckner Villas don’t limit their involvement to the boundary lines of their senior living community, though. In the expansive Austin area, there is an endless amount of organizations and volunteer opportunities to join.  Additionally, the Buckner Villas community organizes year-round events that benefit local and national organizations, such as St. Jude’s Ranch for Children, the Arthritis Foundation, Operation Support Our Troops – America, Texas Paralyzed Veterans, Buckner Shoes for Orphan Souls, as well as local schools, food pantries, and public safety establishments.
